Musically, this song is absolutely incredible, has grown so much already throughout just the summer.
Lyrically, I still prefer the lyrics dave used on the debut of the song, I think if he builds off of all the lyrics that he's been brainstorming throughout the summer and finds a way to bring them all into one, this may be the best song since dreaming tree ... i only say that because I tend to compare it to dreaming tree for some reason.
EDIT: almost forgot, thanks so much Gianni.

Your right, the lyrics from the first version are the best. He has had some gems in the other versions though. I don't know why but I love the Romeo and Juliet line in this version. I hope he actually takes some time and works hard on these lyrics because the song could be something really special.Taylor2885 wrote:Musically, this song is absolutely incredible, has grown so much already throughout just the summer.

Yeh, I've unfortunately only heard a couple versions, but i like bits and pieces of the lyrics from each. The Romeo and Juliet thing is awesome, but i also love bits and pieces from the first version, such as "Why'd you have to go, all the way inside my head," or something similar to that, i can't remember exactly. I think he's just brainstorming some new lyrics with each show, hopefully he'll throw 'em all together in the end. Dave's a great lyricist, and i hope he doesn't settle for just 'ok' lyrics like he had on stand up. I use 'ok' generously as you'll notice.Nitro1515 wrote:Your right, the lyrics from the first version are the best. He has had some gems in the other versions though. I also like that line. Another one that I enjoy from the first version is the 'rainbows broken by the glass' for some reason.Taylor2885 wrote:Yeh, I've unfortunately only heard a couple versions, but i like bits and pieces of the lyrics from each.
