live albums opinions?

Post by yetanotherone »

hi everyone, i'm compiling a sort of "best of dmb live" mix for a friend of mine, and i want to make the best set list possible. i want it to flow well and be a good mix of songs, just like an actual set would be. my question is: some of the songs appear on more than one of the live albums (ddtw, 41, two step, etc...) and i was wondering if there as a general consensus as to which versions are the best. naturally these are only opinions, but i want to hear what people have to say. also, if you have a good idea for a "setlist" feel free to post it...i plan on using two 80 minute cd's, so it'll be pretty close to real dmb live album. thanks.

Are you limiting this to the released live albums, or are you considering live albums recorded and distributed by fans.

Because 5/20/98 #41 is a pure audio orgasm.

well, i want them all to be of good sound quality, so i'd prefer it to be released albums only...that and i've had a rather difficult time getting involved with trading, and i only have one show...

Recorded shows <> bad quality. You're limiting yourself pretty greatly by saying released-only.

to answer the topic, you need a version of Jimi Thing, LS or chicago. some of the greatest jamming ever.
