NO ONE can play cliffs of dover solo..
(okay, some people can) i have thetab forthe whole song, andi can play themain parts, butthe solo is outrageous.
I have a friend who can, hes been playing for about 12 or 13 years though, he's sick, but he loves all of that stuff like Eric Johnson, Dream Theater, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen and all the G3 stuff
next time he stops by, ill try to get him to record it on here, when we record stuff its usually original jam stuff
yeah gumbo, my friend hasnt tried that song, but ill make sure he does, then 30 minutes later record it.... hes fuckin insane... been playing 4 years, and he'll be fucking better than SRV and hendrix combined by the time he graduates HS.

not SRV man. not SRV. maybe in skills, but no one can express more emotions on a guitar than stevie. just listen to Tin Pan Alley.

true SRV had some deeeep emotion in his playing, but my friend does too, but he does almost match him in skill and hendrix as well...
He may be good, but you're saying that he's going to be the best guitarist in history, which seems like hyperbole to me. Please post a recording of him, if he's as good as you say, I'd love to hear it.
yeah we got allot of jams we do, that can last for awhile. sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 30 minutes. sometimes we just keep playing and switch songs randomly....
ill record somethin next time we play, dont know when thatll be though.

i can play cliffs of dover. took me a while to get up to speed but it was worth it b.c its def a real nice crowd pleaser. i didn't think of the instrumental guitar songs orignally . now that you've reminded me, joe satriani and steve vai have some sick instrumental guitar songs that are just as good as cliffs of dover. probably the easiest one to start off on, the one i started off on by him anyway, is Always With Me, Always With You by satriani, another really good one by satriani is Starry Night. both songs sound amazing if someone plays the backround chords. a good steve vai one is Tender Surrender.
