Teego Time wrote:Well that's my dilemma. I'm sort of looking for a well rounded guitar.

I mean I want somethin I can rock out on (like Tool style), but I also want something where I can go a little more mellow like John Mayer style. I do think, however that I want a very clear sounding guitar, where the distortion doesn't ruin the actual chord you play.

But are there things to look for on an electric that apply to all? For instance on an acoustic its good to get one that is all wood, no plastic. Are there any rules on electric like that?
i cant believe im sayin this....but if thats what you want...

get a strat, put a Seymour Duncan Jazz Classic SH2 in the neck, texas special single coil in the middle, and a Seymour Duncan SH5 Duncan Custom Gold in the bridge...

that gives you jazz in the neck, blues in the middle, and distortion in the bridge...

pickups will be $210

make the strat a Fender American HHS

$899

alltogether itll be $1109 ....

itll be nice.

i like how my opinions make me a dumbass!

no seriously i like that one more. i like wood grain. i like "raw" or natural looking guitars and the mahoghany from which its made will give a really nice bass response to it.

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

i think the mahoghany would be much better with gold hardware, but i think id take ut over the sunburst, specially if i had to pay for it! i would also stick some wood binding on the mahoghany one, then itd be hott... ill post pics of the nicest lp ever, gimme a sec
