No, those are just the fills he uses in the jam. This is actually part of the song. It's bugged me for a while. Check out the Dave cam on the Gorge dvd.

You Mean the 9th chords he slides up to?

I think it's just a walk down on the D string from the 12th fret.

It's not the opening walkdown on D. Go to the parts listed on the UTTAD version. Personally, I just finish playing the chorus chords out at that point, there's no need to go into anything else.
