Little ants incline thing...

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

if he can't figure out the part by ear, what are the odds he knows what mixolydian means?

If anyone is curious, the sax line on guitar goes:

Sorry I should have said that earlier but I just remembered.
I know what you're talking about , where it looks like he's sliding on a G chord and then goes down to like the 12th fret and does something? I've only watched it once but I think I know what you're talking about.
No, those are just the fills he uses in the jam. This is actually part of the song. It's bugged me for a while. Check out the Dave cam on the Gorge dvd.
You Mean the 9th chords he slides up to?
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

I think it's just a walk down on the D string from the 12th fret.

We're talking about the funk intro, right?

It's not the opening walkdown on D. Go to the parts listed on the UTTAD version. Personally, I just finish playing the chorus chords out at that point, there's no need to go into anything else.

I played it a couple of times and watched the dvd when I got home and this is it.
Pretty much what Pat had, just played differently.

And no, I wasn't talking about the funk intro.

Code: Select all

E-----------------------------2--
B-----------------------------3--
G-------------------4-----6---2--
D-------5-----5-----x-----x-------
A-------x-----x---0h2--2/4-------
E----2/3---3/5--------------------
