Huge use of the G Chord

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

oh, I thought you were agreeing that he was useing G more, and therefore becoming closer to pop. And then you said you didn't like the direction his guitar work was taking. I guess I read it wrong, but you still didn't have to get defensive.

i see pop as something that is catchy and easily enjoyed by most casual music listeners. those songs fit that description
i disagree. you make things very complex and detailed. music is music, you either like it or don't like it.
yep, but im sure that there are plenty of people who like both dmb and brittney, no matter how much you would like it otherwise.
well, so be it i guess. people like what they like. it's one of life's unsolved mysteries... :?: :?: :?: :?:

i really don't agree with you.
i don't think everyday was even close to trying to reach a pop-like state. the whole album is basically about love and question towards life and where we've been and whats happening now. everyday was an album(i think) that they put out when dave decided he didn't want the lillywhite sessions to become the new album just yet.
i think "crash"(the album) was more pop-like then any other album. and i hate to admit it but dmb is considered pop music in the main stream music industry. these days every band has to fit into some category and the closes' they could figure was pop cause its friendly, happy and all around good music.
i really don't care what the music industry calls dmb, i love the band and all the music they've put out thus far. i could go on forever about this but i guess i'm done for now.

Arguing online is retarted. Dave made some good music. He still makes music. Whether you like it is up to you, simple as that. Each man is entitled his own opinion, but trying to change an opinion of someone online is like trying to change someone's religion, or political stance, it just ain't happening.

Oh the quote war got kinda funny though

Oh yeah, and if that didn't make any sense, sorry, its late.

i guess ill jump in on this. fatjack, you are pretty much right in my opinion. daves guitar work has chilled out. his songwriting has taken his guitar torch imo. what would you say-->gravedigger. lyrics get better. guitar chllls out.

as for the pop thing, yeah, dave is pop in my book. he does not have the pop sound but because his mainstream status (not mtv-mainstream but selling as many records as they do-mainstream) he gets into the pop world.

now thats not a bad thing really the quality of music is way the hell up there. it bothers me when someone doesnt like it when a band they like gets famous. not saying anyone on here is like that but thats just silly. i could rant about THAT for hours but i will cut it short. anywho...
