He was talking about how open Bonham's drums sounded on recordings, it was a great statement IMO. Listen to UTTAD or BTCS and hear how natrual and large Carter sounds. Move into ED and SU territory and it's a closed off over compressed shit sandwich.

I don't think the album will be pure crap like the last one, but if it can even come close to Everyday, I'll be pleased. Everyday is a darn good album (aside from comparisons to the first three studio efforts) and even though it took a while for my initial resentment to wear off, I finally realized it has some solid songs.

I've said it before, but if you took the best songs from Everyday and SU, you'd have a fine album.
