Not that I even care anymore really. Until something drastic happens, I've pretty much written dmb off.
I have always been a fan of the stuff Windham Hill has put out. Michael hedges, Philip Aeberg, Monreaux, so many incredible artists with such great music.
I think that if DMB goes that route instead of for Batson, things would be so much better.
I REALLY think that this album will be better than Stand Up, which I guess isn't saying a ton. Still though, it will be better to listen to and I think will have a few songs that are quality. The album as a whole, however, I am not holding my breath for.

This is what I'm thinking also. A so-so album, with a few quality studio tracks. Nothing special.

what's the source on that? just the stefan/australia interview?

Not just that, but the fact that they hired another producer and all the rumors you hear about the band not really being close anymore. I think what made them so unique and special with all their different influences is starting to become their downfall. Each of them wants to move the band in a different direction. And the fact that they keep going in and out of the studio with nothing really planned coupled with the fact that Dave is a pushover not only with the other members but with RCA as well leads me to believe that eventually they are just going to say fuck it and whip something together quick again a la Stand Up.

Or maybe out of their dysfunctionality they will spawn a creative masterpiece like the when the beatles were at each other's throats and going all different directions in the studio, spawning the white album.
probably not though

that would be great. Why is there so much dysfunctionality within the band?

im not sure if there is dysfunctionality in dmb right now or not, but the beatles relationships with each other were fucked up when recording the white album. ringo walked out during the early reconding sessions (paul plays the drums on "back in the ussr" and "dear prudence")

I'm not sensing any problems from Stefans interview... i dunno maybe I missed a question or something? It didn't sound like he was talking about problems per se as much as he was just saying they were in pre-production for the new album for a long time...
And what rumors about the band not being close anymore? I've never heard of any of this.
