other than the stone, what songs or parts of songs do you guys know for sure that dave alternate picks with?

also for jkanter, will you post in each song how long to play certain things, like the whole order of the song? just wondering. keep up the good work.

im not too sure ...

One thing you could try is too play 4221-- as 422---. The stretch is not needed, and if you emphasize the bass note (4)22--- there will not be much of a difference. You can try that untill you can make the full stretch.

im an asian so i do have small hands...so whats working for me was hand trainings...
push ups on fingers...pretty hard as u start but u get used to it :)
or try shaolin monks finger trainings:

put a lot of rocks in a bowl and dive your fingers in it at a good pace :twisted:

you're right about the "fear"...but i think its also a matter of loyalty to an artist...you know the "i love britney spears so i gotta hate Christina aguilera who looks like britney" kinda feeling! its just not logical for them to love artists in different ways i guess....

i think mayer's music is definitely original, if such a thing as original music is possible. his progressions are usually quite complex, and he's got an interesting rhythmic sense, at least from what i've heard. i don't see how people can say that his music is boring. one might not like the style ...
