Having trouble with my DVD burner...

Post by DmbFanJason »

I just bought a DVD burner...it's installed and so is it's software...I just don't know how to make a DVD. All I want to do is be able to take an existing DVD(DMB bootleg) and be able to make an exact copy of it on to a blank...My burner is a "Lite-On"/Internal ATAPI/E-IDE, if that makes any sense. Any help is much appreciated.

Jason,
Congratulations on the burner!!

Forget about what software you have...or have installed (do not uninstall it though because I don't know your burner!). What you need to get is DVD Decrypter....it is free off the internet and is hands down the best there is.

This thread should be all you need:

http://neilyboy.mtco.com/dvddecrypter/

and there is some follow up discussion of the above thread here:

http://www.sharingthegroove.org/msgboar ... adid=32099

The 1st thread has a link to DVD Decrypter and step by step instructions with screen shots.

Enjoy, and if you have any problems, post here or email me.

Peace

Danny put up some good stuff there :) You might wanna look into a prorgam called CopyToDVD , its the most easy program to use , so if you don't need any special advanced features , that would be a very good program for you , i have tried burning around 20+ DVD's with it , and not a single problem at all :)

You can get CopyToDVD right here CopyToDVD :)

I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out here. (crosses her fingers)

I got a dvd burner about 3 weeks ago. I did the whole dvd decrypter thing and it was working fine. Now all of a sudden I've got errors coming up when I try to play the dvds I've burned. It's either an error or the dvd won't play at all. Does anyone know why this would be happening??? I followed the directions to the t, but suddenly it's not working. Any help would be appreciated

Can you possibly copy what the burn log says from DVD Decrypter when you burned the disk? That might give me a clue to start from.

Marissa,
I'm sorry you are having troubles burning...I would like to help you but can't unless I have more info. If you don't mind coastering another disk, try burning one again using dvd decrypter....and this time copy the log when it is finished and post it here. This might provide a clue to what is happening.
Computer problems are frustrating...it sucks.
Peace.

Hmmmmm? By reading your messages above...It looks like it burned fine. Were you using + or - dvdr's? I wouldn't use dvddecryptor unless the orginal dvd is copyrighted. If it's a live bootleg like 12-22 then use nero or something else. TMPG works well too. You may have to throw a empty folder for audio in there too. Some dvd players require this. Just make a new folder and label it AUDIO_TS then throw that in with the VIDEO_TS folder and you should be good to go. I put an AUDIO_TS folder in every dvd I burn, just for sake of omitting those simplistic format errors.
