I am sorry if this has been posted before, but I noticed something on Jimi Thing on Listener Supported...Around 2:50ish he sings "reach and search and never stop" and then he is supposed to play this...
yea...i know what you are talking about...it stuck to me too...it's a "mess-up"...also notice the part in Granny...after the 1st "you can see what I can when I"...his hands go back to the verse instead of the "blind-ly" part, there is like a "dead" period at that moment.
Dave messes up on all shows that i've seen , wrong chords and such , but he is pretty damn good at saving it Most people , if they play a wrong note , their voice will follow that note , but Dave sure is covered well on that part
I have a Howie Day show where he messes up and just stops and say "Fuck it, I can't even remember my own damn songs..." Dave is good at saving it, except story tellers when trys to play spoon....haha
i don't know about the jimi thing mess up. it sounds as if it may be intentional, and if its not, i like it in that spot. it leads right into the "if you could keep me floating" part. i think i might try it when i get home
i don't know, i think it sounds good. dave always plays songs differently live. i'm playing it now at home, and having that double 7h9 7 sounds really good. i'm going to throw that in every once in a while when i play jimi thing from now on.
yeah, he does it in dancing nancies on storytellers too, but before he starts singing...whateva, he's human and it's cool to see that every once in a while, it reminds you that it aint as easy as it looks - and I know from trying to record covers
Fear my recording setup:
Martin DX1
mtstudio
Computer Mic
"Ah, music - the joy the mind derives from counting without being aware that it is counting" - Leibniz
"Celebrate we will, for life is short but sweet for certain" - Dave

I was kind of dissapointed in a way, I wanted to hear him finish it out. But I guess he just had some funny shit up in his head. Lord knows what goes on up there.

LOL, yeah no kidding, I would have liked to hear play it out as well, but I guess he was too out of it to keep playing it. Been there. But I still think that it was quite funny
