Warehouse question

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

i've been playing this song quite a bit recently, and you will see that as time goes on, you'll find many ways to mute the strings. the way i do it is to just rest finger 4 on the strings for the first few notes, then, when you hit the 7 on the G i press on the string with 1 and mute B and E with 1, and for the other strings, i actually use my thumb. it seemw wierd at first, but if you watch dave play it, i think thats actually the way he does it. what it does for you is make you able to strike the strings very hard in order to get a sharp hard sound, but without the ringing of the other strings. try it out

Just kinda curve your finger so it only sounds the low E string.

I've also been playing this a lot lately, and I also mute the B and E with the 1 when its on G-7. but I mute the D with my 2 finger and I mute the A and E with my 3 finger. It looks like a C-chord formation. and to me, that's what it looks like he's doing. so it looks like hammers the 7-9-11-x-x-x than goes to the x-x-x-7-x-x using fingers: 3-3-2-1-1-1. or at least that's the way I do it. It takes a quite a bit of practice to get the touch for muting like Dave.

hope this helps
good, and you?

The way I figured out muting Dave style is just STRUM. Its gonna sound like absolute shit at first, but you will get it figured out, and it will sound right. Make sense?
