narrowed it down to Ibanez PF5(black) for $210(Christmas sale still goin on) or the Takamine EG230 Acoustic/Electric for 249.99

Go with the takamine if you can....its not the best guitar for that amount of money, but it's certainly better than the ibanez. I'd try and get an alvarez, maybe one of the AD models. They are the most underrated guitars.

The alvarez are really nice. My bandmate plays one and it sounds really nice. Better than alot of guitars that cost two or three times as much as it did.

my friend has an ibanez, it sounds pretty good unplugged, but sounds absolutely money amped.
