What is up with all this hoopla about John Mayer being a better musician than Dave Matthews? Granted he is extremely talented, but that just doesn't make a great musician. Dave can write a song that will be a hit as soon as people hear it because he has that gift of making a song that is just always amazing. Mayer on the other hand just throws in fancy hard riffs and solos and packages it with some sub par lyrics. Dave can write lyrics that make you stop for a second and just go "ohh yea.....wow" because he is that deep. John Mayers lyrics and songs can get old and worn out after a month of air time while Dave can make a song that is considered amazing for 11 years. Dave is better than Mayer, hands down.

i'n sorry...i refuse to post in this kind of thread ever again unless i'm telling you not to post here.

honestly...we've had enough of these. i know you're new, and i'll give you that. but ya better watchout....there are some people who will go crazy if they see this.

I know i'm a little late on this one and i'm new to the site.. But listen to Mayer and you can tell who he tries to sound like (Dave).. His song isn't your body is a wonderland, It's I want to be Dave matthews band..

Mayer is a fuckin awesome guitarist and a great singer IMO...I would love to go see him play too...but I like Dave's older music more than anything in the world.
