neck/middle pickup, tone at about 6-7 for each pickup...I don't know anything about that Korg...
amp...a bit of good reverb, scoop out the mids and up the low and high til you get that round sound, if that Korg has some sort of distortion effect, use that mildly to get some dirt on the clean signal...
we are talking about strats here, right? don't tell me you have a les paul...

I get plenty of tone w/ .11's...bear in mind that SRV played his .13's a half step down as well...that thick of strings combined w/ the lower tuning just gave it a thick, thick sound that really is hard to reproduce...QuattroDore wrote:.13 guage cables strung up on the strat.
A well worn sunburst finish couldn't hurt channeling his spirit either.

yea...last i remember...the best i could come up with for amp settings were about 6-6.5 for my mid and treble and turn my bass all the way up...then what elliot said on pickups...as for my tone though, i've actually been keeping mine around 4-5 when i actually play it...but i'm just doin my damndest (sp?)...more than anything, i always thought what marked his playing was the way he got the plunkety plunk out of using 13's..so i'd try thicker strings, just maybe have to work your way up to 13's
B+P by offer only...thank you

Elliot- when you say 'scoop out', do you mean take away or pump up the mid? thanks again.

ha, hardly, I love electric w/ all my heart and it's my primary instrument, but I really don't know much about it at all...I'm very, very, very much a newbie but an avid enthusiast none the less...dmfollower wrote:I have no clue what you guys are talking about(well i have an idea).
