whos better #1 or #2

Who is better,

1. the technical player who can play play some complicating intro's and knows a bunch of songs 100%, but has trouble makeing quality stuff up on his own can't really improvise or sing and play to well.

or

2.The guy who doesn't really like to bother learning songs or when he's does it's more for referance, wont get it down 100%. Good at making up his own stuff and improvising and better at singing and playing at once.

So, whose better???

#1 is better but #2 is just as many necessary traits.

i really can't imagine people that are these extremes.

ultimately, to be great you need to be both...

yea, i'm a mix of both. I'm not very well at improving though, i usually end up basing it off a song i already know..

1st is the worst, 2nd is the best.
