Materialistic Dave?

as i said before, my friends ran security for the Boone D&T concert. well one of my friends were back stage when dave walked by after signing some autographs right outside the building. he says he overheard him say "This place fucking sucks. If it weren't for the money, i wouldn't be here." or something along those lines.

now if you've ever been to boone, you know...this place fucking sucks. i don't know if he said it or not, but what do you guys think. i think it's a pretty shitty thing to say. of course, i don't listen to dave because of his personal beliefs, just wanted to see what you guys think.

in a way, i could see him sayin that, and yes, i too listen for the music, not the personal beliefs (although some i believe in too), but anyway, i hope he didn't, cause i see dave as someone who would't, but maybe thats just what i wished happened

either way, i'll always be a dave fan no matter what he says

Yeah, I kinda hate these types of threads about wonering if some of the band members are jackass. I have a perfect image of what these guys are like and these start to ruin them. i LIKE TO LIVE IN MY PERFECT WORLD AND IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG i PANIK!

no, the source was unreliable really (not the person, just that there are a million possiblities that he heard the wrong thing or dave didn't say it at all)...and i wasn't there to hear it myself. i was just curious what you guys thought i guess. i have to go w/ DJ on it though, im going to be a fan of dave regardless, unless of course he stands up and says like "I love hitler and the american military should all die" or some messed up shit like that. other than that, im a fan period.

i personally don't think he would say something like that. he has millions upon millions of dollars, and has donated a good portion of his money to various charities, including a few that he took part in creating... i don't think it fits his profile, if he has one that is.

hey dammit, don't lower me to the level of that fucking sexuality thread. im asking an honest question here. i don't know if he said it or not, and i never said i knew for sure that he did. i just wanted to know what you guys thought of artists who you really like acting materialistic. nothing more. and i never said i would stop listening to him if he did say it. i just wanted opinions. so if you don't like it, don't post in it.

I would understand him saying that, I mean, sometimes he gets harassed at those D+T shows and that can't be fun. I could definitely see that multiplied if the place was shitty (never been there so I wouldn't know). I couldn't put up with it, and he does very well. Also, if you listen to the older tapes and compare them to the newer ones, it seems like he's having more fun on the older ones.

Also, I don't really care if he only does it for the money, because he still does it (play music is what I mean by it). And honestly who didn't start playing guitar to A) Impress girls (or guys whatever floats your boat) or B) Become rich and famous. You can deny it, but in the back of your wind you were thinking about one of those things when you laid down the money for that first guitar.

And I know this is really tough to read and doesn't flow very well, but I guess the point I'm trying to make is, Dave, I understand

oh, and DAVE ROCKS WOOOOOOHOOOO!

well, he definetly does it for the money. or else tickets wouldn't cost so much and he wouldn't charge 500 grand for an acoustic concert. but the guy has twins at home, im sure he has much better stuff to do than to play for a bunch of no named fans like ourselves. so like you said, i don't care why he does it, he does it and it's good. so yes, dave rocks.

yeah, besides Im sure that there isnt anything out there that is better then what they are doin right now. They are like the 3rd Richest music group right now, of course they are still gonna do it. I believe they make 75 million a year, that is amazing.
