COSTCO!

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Post by Beauford33 »

I went to Costco yesterday and say a Yamaha Electric guitar there. I just recently recovered from buying my chet and Im wanting a electric guitar to mess with. I already have a nice elctric but I find myself straying far away from it with the arrival of the chet. Here is the link to it:

Um, I've played the Yamaha acoustics and electrics at Costco, and all I can say is to avoid them like the plague. That acoustic had zero sound.

I just want something to mess with and Im considering to sell my electric so I can by another Acoustic(Taylor 814ce). I just want a electirc so I can have one. And by the way, the Acoustic at Costco isnt all that bad. Yeah its cheaply made but nothing to complain about. I have low standerds :D

if you want a cheap electric, epiphones are them. They aren't great, but they are gods above yamaha and squires. Also, those starter packs, I have one thing to say

DANGER, DANGER WILL ROBINSON, DANGER!

Bro, anything is better then the damn yamaha eletrics or acoustics, they both sound like shit, and I wouldnt even play them as a starter or jus something to mess around with. I agree with the epiphone statement, you can it cheap at guitar center or something, and have a pretty decent sounding guitar for a few bucks more opposed to a yamaha..yuck :P

just my two cents

Well, maybe I'm just screwed up or something.. I have a Yamaha FG340 (acoustic).. it's about 35 years old. I love playing it. Overtones and highs ring for days.. no problems with tuning, warping anything.. finish is still great.. just my 2 cents........

The reason why it's good, is beacuse it's 35 years old! Yamaha used to make good guitars (hence Dave's jumbo, that he loves and still plays), but over the years, Yamaha had to compete, so they lowered quality to lower prices. The same thing for Epiphones, but not as extreme as yamaha, so Epiphones still have quality, just not as good as they used to be. Plus, they have Eilite Epiphones now, which are how they used to be built, with good quality.

- An old Yamaha in good shape is a good guitar.

- A new Yamaha in good shape, fire wood.
