i think its cool to change lyrics a little bit,,,just to personalize your performance. dave does it all the time. i personally wouldn't change the chorus, or use cum as much...specially for a school talent show. hahaha. :lol:

I'm all about tweaking songs here and there. If you're doing a cover then you should feel free to take a little creative interpretation.

The only criticism I would offer on your rendition of Too Much is to drop the "cum too much" line. Even though this is one of Dave's edgier (sic...maybe) I think it skews the poetics of the song and makes it more of a cheap two dollar hooker......

....pun not intended.

Just my opinion, take it as you will.

but ya know, dave makes these references often, though subtly.

what do you think he's sayin?

so yeah. subtly is the key. i was not striving for it in this rendition. but i generally agree with y'all.

Actually, I agree with the changing it and "making it your own." That's vital. But, uh, yours was kinda...er...profane? I can't think of a really good term.

lol.... so funny to hear that my changes seemed profane. except for the very last chorus change, i don't think it's profane at all

it was sort of a joke anyways

but again, Dave makes very sexual references often, though not so directly ...which is why it doesn't seem so outrageous.

another example:

"lovely lady, can i drink you please? i won't spill a drop, oh i promise you"

ya think he's speaking about cunnilingus? duh

so, the point is, bodily fluids and sexual comments are standard parts of his songs. but since Dave says it, we all like it. but when someone else does ...it sounds crude.

go figure :P lol
