im almost positive thats the way those 'slash' chords work

Yes, slashed chords are specifying what note to put on the bottom.. and yes, 224442 would be the correct chord.

yeah youre right.. i just put it from high to low with out the highest note

They're not that bad, I suppose they are a lot easier on piano or something
