Sax Grey Street

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

Yeah, being the musically challenged person I am I took the exact notes from the guitar verse and tried playing them on the sax. I renamed it Crap Street :D

let me think for a sec...

if a guitar is in Bb then the sax is in G so....take the notes and go down one and a half steps... i think that might work, just try it though...

Uh.. since when is a guitar in Bb? A guitar is not transposed, thus it is C. Or are you talking notes?

no, if a guitar is playing in the key of Bb, then the sax is playing in G. wasn't saying it was tuned to Bb

Granny33...I have a program called Finale. I wrote out the soprano sax part to Grey Street. If you want it let me know. It's all correct, I promise.

If I guitar is in Bb, btw, the sax isn't in g. Well, it is, but only the alto and bari. The soprano and tenor would be in C. It matters on which sax you're playing...Get back to me on the Grey Street thing though.

i was refering to the alto sax in that case, because it is normally what i've played with before

I understand. I just wasn't sure because this thread was about GS, in which he plays a tenor and a soprano, that's all. I didn't mean to sound rude or anything. I still have the song written out. It's only written out for soprano though. It has the tenor part, which is just played an octave down on the soprano...
