Dealing With Dave Matthews Haters

I recently found myself hanging out with some fellow musicians that I go to college with and upon mentioning something about Dave Matthews they all had something along the lines of i can't stand his music and one went on to make fun of the way that Dave sings and subject matter of his songs. I was just wondering if anyone has had any good ammo that they use to make people like regret saying it, other than of course just ignoring it.

He's making a shit ton more money than they are and quite frankly, he could care less than the opinions of some of your friends.

that his lyrics are not just "ramblings", but that it takes a person of true intellect to comprehend. And that is obviously why they have that opinion.

at the concert i was at last year when he played sister Dave talked about how he is normally happy with just writing jibberish for lyrics, but this time his sister made him take his head out of his ass and write something coherant.

i'm pretty sure a lot of his lyrics have no poetic value, they just add to the music and the feeling. just like the scat he often does. try to take some deep meaning out of that, and you'll find yourself rather lost.
