Here's the tab for A Dream So Real

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Here's the tab for A Dream So Real

It's basically seamless, though I won't claim perfection. Easy song, fun song.

Code: Select all

A Dream So Real
Fish

Verse/Jam:
E: -----------------------
B: --4--6--4--3--3--6--4--
G: --5--7--5--4--4--7--5--
D: --5--7--5--X--x--7--5-- Then back to beginning
A: --3--5--3--2--2--5--3--
E: ----------(3)-3--------

Chorus:
E: --------------
B: --8—(6)-4-----
G: --8--7--5--7--
D: --8--8--5--8--
A: --6--5--3--8--
E: -----------6--

Knowing Dave, that Bb is probably played down on fret 1, but it really doesn’t matter. The solo on the bridge from 9.2 is pretty easy to pick up on, and it sounds pretty cool played on top of this song.

Is the solo from 9.2 and 9.3 any different? I don't have a recording, but I was at both shows. I can't remember now. He played it up somewhere between the 7th-12th fret range. Can you tab out a basic idea of the solo?

well, he basically just starts sliding a 4-6-8 on the B, and moves from there within the chord being played. the man isn't a fantasic soloist, but I thought it sounded decent with the song

methinks perhaps that D-minor chord doesn't fit, any thoughts?

the d-chord is a little shifty, but close enough, and he has played before the solo on a few versions.

This is really simple but Im 95% positive that this is the way its played. I just made it simple cause I dont have a good ear for notes on a piano.

and I dunno how to do the box thing cause I havent posted here in years lol

Verse
Cmin AbMaj Cmin Amin F/GMaj GMaj Cmin
E|-----------------
B|-----------------
G|-8-7-8-5-4-4-8
D|-x-x-x-x-x-x-x
A|-6-5-6-3-2-2-6
E|-8-6-8-5-1-3-8

Chorus
EbMaj Dmin Cmin AbMaj EbMaj
E|--------------------
B|-8-6-4-4-8-----8-
G|-8-7-5-5-8-----8-
D|-8-8-5-6-8-----8-
A|-6-5-3-6-6-----6-
E|--------4----4--6--

Thats what I hear, discuss. :thumbsup:

Actually, that Amin sounds a little off...it's tough to tell with the jazz-ness of the tune

The piano adds a lot of variation to the chords, so you just have to do your best

you're off by quite a bit man. here's something closer. i leave the timing to you guys. that's easy to figure out. the 4th cord i'm not 100% is dead on but it's a close enough variation. i might be tuned half step down so if that's the case, move everything up

low E---4--7--4--x--4--4--4|| chorus ---0--x--4--x--0--x--0
---------4--7--4--6--6--6--4|||||||| ---2--2--4--0--2--0--2
---------6--9--6--7--7--6--6|||||||| ---2--4--6--2--2--2--2
---------6--8--6--6--5--5--6|||||||| ---1--4--6--2--1--2--1
---------3--9--3--7--x--4--3|||||||| ---0--4--3--2--0--2--0
high E--x--x--x--x--x--x--x|||||||| ---0--x--x--x--0--x--0

enjoy
