Want to ask about strings, maintenance, amps, mics, or comparisons of different guitars or any music equipment? This is for all threads related to music equipment.
Looking into a first electric and found this really cool custom telecaster body that is completely original and a one of a kind guitar but it is only the unfinished body and maple on maple neck. Needless to say, I would have to build it from scratch but building a guitar is something that I have always been interested in, so not sure if I should do it. I am experienced enough to invest in it so I know that it wont be a waste of money but thought that I would get your opinion.
Thanks
Heres a pic of it
forest-type colors. Especially with the ivy and the owl there and everything it would look sweet in like a forest green all the way down the spectrum to almost black
C) there is no way in hell I would paint that. Stain it. it is hand carved woodf and you are going to make it looks like shit by covering up the detail with paint. Similarly there is no way you will be able to pain that yourself and have it look any good. Too many fine creases paint will glob in. it will just come out like ass and look tacky as hell.
I would go with a stain that will still show off all of the counters of the craftdmanship, and will look good with a maple neck. I am thinking a very natural tone. very brown, but not too dark. maybe a hint of honey. oh yeah, thats the spot.
but yeah, painting it will make it look like a toy.

I support all of this post
As do i.
i think the only gay lookin part is the owl, the rest is fairly classy
Ya it could, I dont think that it looks gay at all, And I would have a professional paint and stain it, I probably wouldnt get any colors just a nice natural look. I would be stupid to paint it myself. If I get it, I will post some pics of it done
If you do paint it, do a 2 color sunburst fade. My favorite Telecaster is Michael Housers 1992 Tele Plus Deluxe (discontinued) with the black to dark red fade and the white pickguard. Sooooooo sexy.
