anyone ever tried playing the ants marching verse with bar chords instead of open chords? it just seems more conveinient to me.

the d and g are the chords im referring to

I don't like it. I need the full open sound of the d and g, rather than the muted barre chords. Makes it sound like a jimmy fallon cover :lol:

I really like using the xx0775 form of d as much as i can. I've been using that one maybe too often.

its easyer to play barrs, but it sounds Very cool when daves does it his way so i say, ........do it his way

Not a big fan of the barr chords on this song, doesn't sound as clear and vibrant.

On a side note, I cannot stand when I hear a solo guitarist cover the song in a bar or something and he plays more of boyds part during the verse, just with the D and G chords, but no hammer-ons. God that makes my ears bleed.

i have never played AM with bar chords,i find it easier playing them dave's way. Plus im not a huge fan on bar chords. I only play them when i have to.
