A band i was recording a month ago left their stuff in the studio while they were recording and that's the guitar that their guitarist used. I played with it a lot at night after they left and I loved it. I'm not an electric guitar player and that's probably the most time I have ever spent playing an electric, a lot of fun. It was also a great playing guitar, very easy to play and felt like a quality guitar. It also sounds great, I had it running through a fender vintage reissue tube amp and a cheap grunge pedal by digitech i think. I would reccomend it, especially for the price.

k awesome thanks. im thinking about getting the brown, because every band with a sg has the red. i like how the brown looks natural. im not sure if it would look so great in person though. anyone played a brown one?

go to a guitar center, they always have a million SG's sitting around. I played a red one so I'm not sure about the brown one.

SGs are quality guitars. Best one you'll find in that price range.

i bought it today and i couldnt be happier. i have a crappy amp i will spend prob 200-300 on a new one. any suggestions? im going to be playing alot of hendrix, clapton, and classic rock. maybe zeppelin if i ever start listening to them

anything with a tube, i have always likes marshalls with gibson's but fender is good too.

I have played through a lot of electric guitar amps and Marshalls are my favorites. I just played on a used one the other day that I would have bought if I hadn't just bought a new computer.

i hope this product isn't emo. i saw a bunch of gothic people talking about it when they were in guitar center. i liked it because of all of the effects and how easily it worked.

Nah its not emo but i have never been impressed with line 6 amps and i really dislike onboard effects, they are cheap sounding, are rarely adjustable (delay time, phaser depth etc...) and are a pain in the ass to use in a live setting. I would always recommend getting a really good amp with good tone and then use pedal effects. Most amps you can get all sorts of distorted tones by just playing with the gain and volume settings. From there all you really may need is a delay pedal like a DD-3 or DL-4 and maybe a chorus/reverb pedal. It really just depends on the style of music you are playing.

Just dont sacrifice tone for shitty little effects that you will get bored with in an hour.

Look into these, maybe even find them used.

Also if you are worried that pedals will be expensive look into digitech's new line, suprisingly good tone qualties and good construction for reasonable price. I was especially impressed by the bad monkey overdrive.

thanks for the input guys

i played on a blues jr at a local music store, i was really impressed with the tone especially the treble. beautiful. but im new with the whole electric scene, and im not sure what an overdrive pedal is for. i liked the line 6 because it had all these effects. is that what an overdrive pedal is for? i think a blues jr would have enough volume to play with any drummer am i right?
