"Unforgivable" Another Original

Unread post by Appfro » Tue Dec 05, 2006 2:33 pm

I kind of felt like recording today and i didn't have anything new, so i rerecorded a song that i wrote about 2 years ago. i never posted the song cause it was 6 to 7 minutes long and i couldn't figure out what i wanted to do w/ it. recently i cut it down, it's just a little over 4 now i think counting the couple seconds of silence, so i really sliced the hell out of it. but it was too boring at 6 min.

my computer messed up a bunch of times cause i had too many things going at once so my voice got a little scratchy. but either way, i hope you enjoy

the song's called Unforgivable

edit: i'm also curious of what you guys think about the recording. i added some effects and equalizers that i usually don't use. overall i'm just trying to experiment and get a decent recording quality for a demo cd. as always, thanks for your help

nice utilizing of simple chord progressions. I liked the yell near the end. Things seemed a little mumbled in some places and i couldnt quite hear the lyrics. but other than that there arent complaints really. nice singing and guitar work. Above all, nice song.

thanks. i appreciate the listen. i'll post the lyrics here in case anyone else has a problem hearing

Unforgivable

What I’ve done unforgivable
What I’ve done I turned my eye
Better I than temptation
Pride doeth come before I die

Tempted by the eyes of one
Who’s not mine not meant to be
But I slipped through the cracks
Of faithfulness I fell on my knees

Chorus
I am weak
And I’m not the man that I thought I could be
I am torn
From the warmth of the heart of the one that I love
And I stood
On the soul of a goddess who shared the love I had
And I fell
From the arms of an angel who cared, cared for me

Now I walk with my head hung low
Won’t return to this place
What I’ve done unforgivable
I have caused my lover’s pain

I like this one much better than your last, nice job. The vocals and guitar are both very catchy.

I like the guitar a lot and I think your voice suits very well. Nice job, and definitely at a completely different level than my "ukulele shit"

patented live time commentary

1. great guitar, recorded beautifully and what a great little riff, congratulations

2. the vocals are fantastic as always, i feel for the first time like this song was written for your voice, where your other stuff forced your voice into somewhere it didn't belong.

3. incredible lyrics, that is all. no awkward word choice or structure

all i can say is i wish to god i could write or perform a song like this, definetly one of the best originals ive heard on these boards.

i would buy the album this is on.

Apps- great work again, I love it. Your voice has kept reminded me of someone and now I finally found out who: Chris Cornell. And yeah, thats a big compliment :D Theres a certain thing with your voice that I think would make it sound good for "calm" rock like Audioslave.

Can I put up a request? I don't think I've heard you play any Dave songs yet. Would be cool to hear you sing one. Doesn't matter which one, just pick your favorite (if you have time/can be bothered) :D

Keep on posting!
