I'm learning this song and all is well except for the chorus. The tab that i have has this for it:

The problem is that I don't hear this being played. I hear the slide but I don't really hear all of that other business between the slide and the D chords.

I guess I should have put a question in there. Does anyone know how that is supposed to sound? I'm probably just going to figure out those five picked notes and play that instead, but I'm wondering where the stuff in that tab came from.
