satellite question

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

No problemo. Basically, the chords change every six beats. I can't help you with the slide, because I don't normally play it. Anyway, an arrow indicates a chord change.

(First chord) Winter's  cold, Spring erases, And the  calm away by the  storm is  chasing, Everything  good needs replacing, Look up, look down, all around, Satellite (and back to main riff). It's the same for Rest high above the clouds... with that arpeggio in there. Hope this helps! PM me if needed.

That was just beautiful! I've been struggling with that ever since I first tried the song. I was just about to post that question. Thanks.

OK, here it goes:

Rest  high above the  clouds, no re  strictions, [arpeggio], tele  vision rays  bounce round the  world [arpeggio], and while I  spend these hours  , five  senses reeling [arpeggio], I  laugh about this  weatherman's  satellite eyes... (Riff)

Hope this helps some, and good luck! PM if you need any help at all.

I play it like this:

Code: Select all

E:-----4-------3---x---------------
B:-----4-------4---x---------------
G:-8---5---x---5---x---6--x--6--x--
D:-8---6---x---5---x---6--x--6--x--
A:-6---6---x---3---x---4--x--4--x--
E:-6---4---x-----------------------
  x1 x13 x2 x13 x2 x13 x2 x1 x4
Downstrums for the single strums and for all three of the x13's play d d u d u d d u d u d d u I hope you can understand that but that is the strumming pattern. d = downstrum u= upstrum in case you didnt know I also throw in 4 muted strums after the 6688-- chord after Ive gone through the whole progression once. All the muted strums follow a down up strum pattern. If the muted strums make this to confusing to people still trying to learn it just ignore them and play it without them, I think they sound better and I also hear Dave playing them but I guess their not necessary when first learning it. Hope this helps.
