oh

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Are you playing standard or capo 7? Whichever one you are playing, what parts are you having trouble with. The fingerpicking is a little weird because not many of Dave's songs are fingerpicked, but I love fpicking now. Anyway, for the capo 7 version, just form chord shapes. I'll look at the tab and let you know which chord shapes to form. If you're playing standard, you also have to form chord shapes, but they are a little irregular, but easy once you get the hang of it. Also, if you go on Youtube, you can watch Dave play it.

P.S. If you need audio to help you out, let me know.

For the capo 7 intro, form these chord shapes: A, C(3rd fret, so D), G. Doing this has your fingers already in place and all you have to do is fingerpick the notes. The rest is pretty self-explanatory. I'll put the chord shapes for the standard version in my next post. Hopefully this makes sense and helps you out. This is a fun song to play when you get the hang of it.

For the standard intro form these chord shapes.

Code: Select all

E------------------------5--------------------------------------
B----9-------------6---------------7---------------------------
G----9--------6/7--------7---------7-------7h9p7----------------
D----9-----------------------------7------------------9------7-
A----7-----------------------------5----------------------9----
E--------------------------------------------------------------

That's how you set up. Here's the actual tab:

Code: Select all

Intro/Verse
E:----------------------5------------------------------------ <---1on5
B:---------9--------------------------7----------------------
G:---------9---------6--7-------------7------7h9p7----------- <---3on7
D:----(9)-------6/7----------7-----7----------------9-----7--
A:-7----------------------------5---------5------------9-----
E:-----------------------------------------------------------

Hope that makes sense and helps you out.
