this probably doesnt need its own thread..but wait, yes it does.....
I CAN SING.
FINALLY. i've been so frustrated with this for so long....and woah...
i was sitting, playing along with busted stuff, captain of all songs, and words came out. and i freaked out. so i tried YNK, i can do that too, and grey street, and big eyed fish, some of busted stuff. i'm trying bartender now. i am so giddy i can hardly keep my voice on pitch. i told my mom i'd paint the dining room before she got home from work but i dont think that's gonna happen. something just snapped into place and now playing the songs is like dancing to the song, instead of playing guitar.
can i just yell? 8) 8) 8)
thanks for all the tips and tabs and wisdom and everything else that is here everyone.

ehh..i think so...i'm always wanting it to be better though. i was a theatre guy in high school, did the state choir thing. singing is what drew me into music. guitar is a very recent addition.
i'm so happy if i had a jump rope i'd probably use it.

I dont have a good voice at all yet but today I was playing along with 3/14/99 and found I could sing to almost every song I could play fromt hat show which was most of them. So yay for me too, I can sing and play, just not sing well and play.
yeah i changed the name of the thread. not that i am less excited, but maybe not so foolish now. i played along with UTTAD and BTCS, and i can do most the songs, parts of all of them. the surprising thing is that i can sing most of the stone. too bad it sounds like shit when i play it!

When Dammit!!! I need to take some lessons or something, is it possible that I just dont have a good voice and cant sing, I mean its not terrible and I think I could improve but I sure havent gotten any better at all. I still think I sound like shit.

Gotta give it time .... I can't tell you when , cause it still differs from one person to another Taking lessons might not be a stupid idea , alot of people take them to learn it the real way , and some just figures out pretty much for them self ....
Keep practicing that voice , it won't change over night but in time
you might want to take lessons if you feel you need them. you WILL improve, but also, if you sing incorrectly you can seriously damage your voice. and sooner or later, it will result in you canceling a concert at Madison Square Garden that i was really looking foreward to seeing.

dunno why but lately, when I sing, I get a really strange feeling in my voicebox... sort of like i can feel it vibrating (it's really difficult to explain)..
so i'm thinking i start up with some singing lessons, lol...

I'd give my left nut to be able to sing and play at the same time I don't know how you guys do it I've tried and tried but I just can't grasp the ability to have my brain going in two different directions at the same time......one listening to the guitar and the other banging out the words. Maybe some day it will come.
