Post by Jay »

what DMB shows have you all been to?

i imagine we all have some cool stuff...here's mine

8/5/98 - 41 > say goodbye, stone > drive in drive out, stay without the ladies, though i was probably not a big enough fan to appreciate it
6/19/99 - "the return of cry freedom," crush and watchtower with warren haynes
6/20/00 - first raven, first jtr, encore: #40 > first full band bartender > ants :shock:
7/6/01 - just a good show with a jtr opener
7/7/01 - THE grey street, and awesome LIOG :shock:
4/4/02 - the return of pig, busted stuff, raven, first wayg but who cares :P
4/5/02 - awful show with 11 repeats fromthe night before and a space between/ i did it encore :roll: but they did play help myself :D
4/12/02 - i saw this one front row :D right in front of roi. this show was nuts, carter high fived me at the end. dave is such a funny entertainer up close. one of my favorite two steps ever closed this one.
8/5/02 - captain, jane, nancies, proudest monkey...jimi > ants closer that was :shock: everyday/36 with the old "i dont wanna see you in the corner by yourself..." scat thingy
8/6/02 - pig opener, kit kat jam, 41> say goodbye, stone
12/20/02 - captain opener, jane, stone, sick loving wings, warehouse w/ louie louie, christmas song
12/21/02 - granny, seek up, halloween, oh yeah and sex machine with james brown 8)

sadly i have not seen dave and tim (yet)... where have you guys been? i want gorge stories! :P

I havent been to a lot of shows but I went to 6/19/00 and 6/20/00 and it was just cool to be there at the very first two shows of the year when he played SUAD, Grey Street, Diggin A Ditch, JTR and Raven. Its nice when everyone is just quite and listens to all the songs without singing along, also very cool to hear so many new songs for the first time.

my friends bailed on me for soldier field in 01, and for radiohead that summer too. i went by myself, and it was actually more fun. my local friends are not really big fans. they SAT through the LIOG on 7/7/01 and talked about how long it was. i wanted to kill. :evil:

Yeah, I wish my friends were as into the band as I am, I need to find people that will go to the show no matter what and listen to Dave on the drive there and back and play guitar with me and everything else. My friends suck, I need to find some new ones, j/k.

I was at 3/31 this year it was amazing. I got to hear Best of What's Around, Beauty of Wynona, and the full Blue Water. Any D&T show is amazing, but the Crush jam, and the 2 Step jam left me in awe. It was a great show with great songs, funny Davespeak and lyrical disasterin X-Mas song.

I feel so left out when seeing so many shows that you guys have been to. My pathetic list of all, yes all, the concerts I've been to is here:

Tim Reynolds October 8, 2001, Graceland, Seattle, WA I was at the front of the stage for this one.

DMB May 23, 2002, Rose Garden, Portland, OR

This show had a great setlist, including Dave singing "Joyful Girl" with Soulive during the opening (complete with a lyrics sheet), such a sweet song.

Grey Street
I Did It
Pig
You Never Know
Where Are You Going
Too Much
Jimi Thing
Big Eyed Fish -->
Bartender
Fool To Think
Grace Is Gone
What You Are
The Stone
Tripping Billies
Encore
For The Beauty of Wynona
All Along the Watchtower

DMB September 7, 2002, Gorge Ampitheatre, George, WA

Stone, Two Step, Warehouse, Nancies, Awesome.

Grace Is Gone
The Stone
Don't Burn The Pig
Rhyme & Reason
Captain
I Did It
Dancing Nancies
Warehouse
What Would You Say
Crush
Kit Kat Jam
Jimi Thing
Drive In Drive Out
Loving Wings
Where Are You Going
Two Step
Encore
Cry Freedom
What You Are

My first show was in Dallas 8.13.98- Crickets invaded the stage and most of the show was played with the stage lights off and the lights turned on the crowd. We sat on the lawn and it rained on us most of the show.
I've been to about 15 DMB/D&T shows, but I'll always remember my first.

Hey! I was at both of these shows! The second night of Gorge was one of my favorite concerts of that year. My favorite show however is the following:

May 19, 2002 Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View, California

Cry Freedom (tease) -->
Seek Up
Pantala Naga Pampa -->
Rapunzel
Crash Into Me (Dixie Chicken)
One Sweet World (Instrumental Intro)
The Space Between
Grey Street
Grace Is Gone
So Right
Raven
So Much To Say -->
(Anyone Seen the Bridge?) -->
Too Much
Lover Lay Down
The Stone
If I Had It All
Ants Marching
Encore:
Where Are You Going
Everyday (#36)

A great show with the first Lover Lay Down of the year. Strangely I also heard the first Lover Lay Down of this year at Boone. Weird.

Nope, I think that's May 15, 2002 Staples Center, Los Angeles, California. That's the show that also has a funky off tempo GIG.
