and it has been kept in its case for 10 years..... if im correct the strings should be 10 years old!!

That's what caught me off guard too. Regardless, I have played a shenandoah D-28 and a 35 like this and I didt like the sound at all, the laminated DXM sounded better to me (But a DXM sounds better to me then a regular D-28. What can I say it's a great guitar)...
