My favorite Dave vid inside- The Stone

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Post by neophyte »

Sorry if this is a repeat but I absolutely love this video of dave playing The Stone, even though the quality of the vid isnt the greatest.

Yeh this is a great video ... he's right on in every note. It's nice to see that because I feel as if some of his later solo performances such as farm aid 04 and 05 have gotten little sloppy. Sloppy may be a bad description but not typical dave performances.

Wow! Great vid!

Has actually got to get me practice the stone now. Been playing like a beast (not that i have accomplished much, that is).

It's a great vid to learn how to play stone. Besides, sounds AWESOME, love the falling in love ending.

first time i saw that video i got the biggest chills ever because it was the first time hearing just dave play the song. Theres something so powerful when he played that song that night, as corny as it sounds, and so wonderful. Truly one of his best solo performances ever.

did he just randomly sing "Falling in love" or does he always sing it like that?

sounded pretty cool...jack johnson does stuff like that too (white stripes, and mostly cat stevens)

i like the way he ends the song...that guitar sounds awesome (d - 35 ?)

That video is on dmbontv if you want a download. Better quality too.
that video from youtube cuts off like 20 seconds of it

Can anyone guide me to the version on dmbontv?>

I got chills the first time seeing this as well cause its really the first time ive heard the song in a long time.

Is it just me or is dave hitting the strings twice during this part(and the verse part)

Intro
E:-------------------------
B:-------------------------
G:-----2-------------------
D:---------3---5-5--2-3-2--
A:-5-----------------------
E:-------------------------
4 1 2 4 4 1 2 1

It could just be me but that part when he plays it sounds more full than what the tab conveys.

I think the tab is ok, it's just a matter adding mutes...

One of David's best qualities as a singer/guitar player is the ability to play such interesting riffs and sing over them in time.
