help me! electronic systems...

just wondering peoples opinion on a couple different electronic systems. im looking to get a thinbody acoustic electric and am deciding between the wasburn ea18 and the alvarez fd60.

the washburn has the B-Band True Acoustic Preamp System, which people rave about, and the Alvarez has the System 600T Mk II EQ (which is featured in their acoustics up into the 1000$ price range)

can anyone tell me the difference between these 2 systems? they both claim o be extremely clear and able to get great tones, but i was just curious to the difference between them. Thanks!

ok i rarely do this but im gonna say both of the 2 options ytou have put out there are bad choices... ill explain why i feel that way if you answer a question... why sis you decide to go with a thinbody acoustic?

In my experience, thin body acoustic is only good for live playing. So if you arent playing live often, then a dreadnaught would be the better choice.

im mostly looking for something to play plugged in (at home and occational gigs) if i do get a thin body i will almost never play it not amplified, i have a couple decent washburns for that. im looking for something that sounds great plugged in, and from what i have read going with a thinbody with good electronics can get me that crisp sound of the higher end guitars without dishing out a grand.

any other thoughts guys?

full bodied acoustics sound better plugged in than thin body, the only reason to use a thin would be because you go crazy onstage with stage moves etc. atleast thats the only purpose i can think of for one... maybe feedback elimination too? but just get a feedback buster... i would just recommend a full bodied acoustic with good electronics..

Feedback is one thing, but thin bodied do tend to cut through a band better, but if you are playing alone, even if it is plugged in i would go bigger. Also, thin bodied are more comfortable to play on stage if youre standing up. If youre sitting down I find a dread more comfortable.

i feel like you could achieve the thin bodied sound with a full bodied guitar just by cranking the trebble a litte. its a one way street tho, you cant get the full bodied resonance with a thinny

here is the question..what guitar can i get for about 500 bones that will get me the best amplified sound? is there a better guitar in comparison to the thin body that will sound better for the money?

500 is the alvarez takamine department. you can get a solid topped full bodied amplified acoustic in almost any shape you want for 5.

Yeah definitely check out takamine's. they have great preamps and their NEX body shape is very comfortable to play.

Go Tak: you can get a very nice sound and a very nice looking guitar.
