First Song

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

What was the first song for you guys to learn on the guitar?

Mine was Pantala Naga Pampa or Ants Marching.

Of Dave? I've known Ants and OSW for the longest time.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

I started in the 90s with a couple of songs from Metallica and then I've learned powerchords with Nirvana.
Some time after I made some developments with Eric Clapton's unplugged and finally met Dave. I think I've started with Ants Marching.
There was also a time when I played Dream Theater with my acoustic. It's great to develop!

Now I'm focused on Tim parts in L@LC and developing fingerstyle with John Mayer (Neon).

I gotta say, anyone that is saying the first song they learned how to play was a Dave song is full of it (with the exception of something like Proudest Monkey). Are you kidding me? First songs that people learn are a couple of cords that are easily strummed.

Crash? I don't believe it.
