Hello all,
I have a question regarding the end of the intro to Gravedigger. In the tab on this site, it directs you to end the intro on an Aminor chord (or some variation of it). However, if you watch the AOL session video or listen to the acoustic version on "Some Devil," it's clear that Dave doesnt end the intro on an Aminor chord....more like the 2xx23x chord....but I cant tell exactly (watch the AOL video...you can catch his fretting hand at the last part of the intro in the 2xx23x position) .
How do you all transition from the Intro into the Verse? Should I be incorporating the 2xx23x chord into the intro?
the most common answer to this type of question is,
the tab prob isnt wrong, its just dave played it diffrently that time.... he always seems to play song a little differently.
i personly play it like you said, ending on the 2xx23x, but just do whatever feels natural
Gervais on Rosa Parks "she was arrested but then that law was changed- but she didnt stop there, she started sitting in the seats saved for disabled people. unbelavable, she talked to the driver when the bus was in motion- did she have the correct change ready? - did she bollox!"
Everytime I hear him play it, he plays the Am after the 2xx23x chord. He goes into the beginning of the verse at the end of the intro. So I think that is the reason why an Am is at the end, because it actually is the last chord, but is really just a prolonged first chord on the verse.
Guitardmb - thats exactly what confuses me about it. the 2xx23x chord doesnt appear in the tab in the intro at all, so I ignored it up till now (until later in the song). So do you play the 2xx23x chord as the second-to-last chord of the intro and then end it on Aminor?
I like that each time he plays the song, it's different....but I dont have the talent yet to do it different every time. Yet I still want to "sound" like him (thats why we're all here, right?).....which is why I started this thread.
So the general consensus is that you all incorporate the 2xx23x chord into your intro at various points?
Thanks!

What I do is like what Kukini said above. I just play the intro thats listed on the site one or two times then i play the chorus from the site one time and end on the 2xx23x chord. After that i just go into the verse like normal.
