Recording Question, please help!

Post by boy52 »

in CoolEdit Pro:
Hi guys, seems like an dumb question, but what is the method to "shift" the tracks forwards and backwards in the multi-track view? Of course, the reason to do this is to match up the timing/beat of one track to the others. This was very easy to do in Audacity as you would select the time-shift tool, select on the track and drag it left and right. I havent been able to find out how to do it in Cool Edit though. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

If I'm understanding your question correctly, you have to change the sort of cursor you're using. Up top there are three icons together that look like this.

Select the one to the far right to move tracks in Multitrack View. Good luck!

Slimer, thank you for replying! But I'm still unable to find those icons. I think there's a setting I need to select in order for those to show up, but I really have no clue. What's the exact name of that function? I could look it up in the help file and maybe itll guide me on how to enable it. Thank you!

I've never heard of having to enable it. For reference, it's easy to miss:

Slimer, thanks for having to go through the trouble of screenshotting that for me. I have all of the buttons on the toolbar except for those three. Kinda weird huh?

Kahn, right-clicking and dragging worked for me. Thanks a bunch!
