snapped string while tuning

just curious if this has happend to any of you...

i was tuning my guitar to raised b and the d string snapped right by the tuner. any reason?

to much tension? possible weak point in the string. old strings?

Yeah...you need to buy two sets of strings and put the A string where the low e should be, d where the A should be, etc...

you prob have lights or extra lights right? meds is the lowest gauge i use never snapped one and ive had this set on my acoustic for 9 months.... THEY NEED REPLACED SO BADLY IM JUST A CHEAP ASS

oh well those strings were about 2 months old anyway. good thing i have extra. :wink:

it could be a problem in your bridge. i used to snap my high e everytime when i tried to tune it to D and try to tune it back to E. one time i poked my brother in the ear :lol: made him bleed. anyway, if it happens very often it's not the string, it's the bridge or the nut or some combination of the two. have it checked if it keeps happening.

(offtopic) lol once i tuned my seagull...
suddenly the whole head of the guitar was flying to my direction!!!!what a shock i could have cried..

with some help of father we could glue it and know its working for 5 years hard play ;-)
