|-----------------------|*--------0--7-----0----|------------4--------0--|
|---------0-------------|*-----7--------7-------|--5---------------------|
|-----5------------7----|---5-------------------|------------------------|
|--3---------3--5-------|-----------------------|------------------------|
  (F) [1. (Em) ] [2.(Em) N.C end Riff A
|--------1--------|--------------0------|------------------|
|-----------1-----|-----------0-----0---|-----0------------|
|-----0--------0--|-----4--0-----------*|--------0--4------|
|--3--------------|--2-----------------*|--2---------------|
|-----------------|---------------------|-------------/3---|

I would have replied the first time I saw this thread, if I knew how to answer. Truth be told, I'm in the exact same boat as you regarding that tab. It just doesn't sound right, and since I don't have the ear to tab myself without taking a weekend off, I just gave up on it. That tab is also incorrect, from my understanding, on Kirk's opening solo. I can play all of it except that one measure just sounds like its missing something.

Sorry dude.

hey what metallica songs can you play? any you would recommend me learning? id like to learn fade to black, master of puppets, orion, call of ktulu, and one or 2 more but i think theyre out of my league. a friend of mine actually learned fade to black as his 2nd song on guitar. its crazy.

We all master things differently and at different speeds .... Don't say its out of your league , all it takes is practice , sometimes more than others , but just practice it if you wanna learn it and eventually you'll get it and go like : " damn that was easier than i thought , i know i should have listened to Dusty long time ago ;) "

the part in the intro solo of One where all the slides are? is that what you're talking about? you just kinda gotta fudge that part, heh. No Leaf Clover, Hero of the Day, Nothing Else Matters...basically anything off of Load and Reload is easy. Call of the Ktulu is so much fun. hmm...i haven't played electric in so long though, heh. Hero and NEM sound pretty good on acoustic. 8)

Edit: I have the books for Ride the Lightning, Load, ReLoad, and Garage, Inc. Let me know if I can help.

I can never find a tab that sounds decent for Metallica's One, but I always thought a Dave & Tim version would be tight. I doubt it will ever happen, but they did do a Marylin (sp) Manson song.

back in the day i used to know all the metallica songs like i know dave now....maybe i'll start playing a few again to see if i remember...

and as for "one" it will be really hard to get it to sound right because it's 2 guitars (i think that's the riff in question) James and Kirk play at the same time so it sounds well...cool.....i think

Peace,

Yeah, exactly. The part of kirk's solo in one where he is sliding down the neck. It just seems to be missing a slide, and I'm too lazy to figger it out. I can't tell if there is something wrong with me, because mxtabs voters overwhelmingly gave it 5 stars. Maybe I'm just deaf.

Shane, call of ktulu is very fun to play but took me a long time because I found alot of the grips and changes were difficult. You could definitely do it with some time though. Other songs to try that I don't think are THAT difficult: Nothing else matters for some finger style, Unforgiven is really easy, Fade to black (James' parts are extremely cool and extremely easy, Kirks' are a different story), To Live is To Die (I can't stop playing the second riff) and Prince Charming (kinda tough).

Oh, and if anyone here can play the solo to blackened.... I build them a small shrine.
