newbee recording question.....

i want to record some songs i've been working on with the guitar...i have a mixer (eurorack ub802) and a condenser mic.....i tried hooking those up to my computer that has adobe audition, but i'm getting my butt whooped because i'm not really computer savvy....i'm thinking of giving up...is there any other way i can record w/ out the computer?....any recommendations? thanks.....

To record into the computer you first need a sound card. If you can listen to music and hear sounds then you have a sound card. Then you need recording software, which im assuming adobe audition is. Then you plug the mixing board into either the mic or line in input in your computer. This is an 1/8 " input jack, so you may need a converter if the out on your mixing board is 1/4 ". Then you need to set the record option on your computer to either mic or line in, depending on which one you plugged the mixer into. Then you start recording. Normally there is a record option on the program that lets you change what you are recording from. I am not familiar with adobe audition so i dont know exactly how to do it with that program, but this is just the basic overview of how to do it.

yeh theres def a huge advantage in recording on the computer at our level, however your other options are:
