Jimi Thing....

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Jimi Thing....

Post by sbhanot »

Hey guys,
I'm having a bit of trouble with the Jimi Thing chorus, I guess I just can't really get it - what do you all play for the chorus, it sounds kind of empty the way i play it, I was wondering how to make it a bit more intense, i guess..... let me know if you have any ideas.... Thanks!

The part with "Sometimes, a jimi thing........" etc. not the part with the "I'd like to show you what's inside" or whatever....

D:-2-2---------4--4-4-x-x- <--4
A:-0-0---------x--2-2-x-x- <--1
E:-----3-3-2-2-x--0-0-x-x-
   1 1 2 2 1 1
That's kinda how I play it. Probably not exactly right but I think it sounds good.

That's pretty close to how I play it too. I don't think it's that difficult, but it took me forever to be able to sing [well] over it...
