Time of Your Life (Good Riddance)

Post by xan. »

I really like to play and sing this song. I know all the chords and I can strum the chords but I want to be able to pick the notes. Whenever I look at a tab it seems they always tell to pick the wrong notes and it doesnt sound right. Does anyone have a tab that they know is 100%?

billy armstrong plays some kind of folk picking on this song but its played with a pick.
just pick the chords and repeat the picking scheme.

G5 Cadd9 D
e-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
h-----------3-----------------3----------------3-----------------3-----------
g--------------0----0-----------0---0------------0----0------2----2---2----
d---0--0---------0-----0--0------0-----2--2-------2-------0--------0------
a---x--x---------------x--x-------------3--3--------------------------------
e---3--3---------------3--3---------------------------------------------------

Pre Chorus is Em C D G
Chorus is Em G Em G Em D

thats about it and it should be not too hard to figure out.
(The high e string is not used during the song)

Em 022000
C x32010
D xx0232
G 3x0033

i´m not 100% sure that it´s picked exactly the way i wrote cause i don´t have my guitar here but just listen to the song and try out what sounds best for you.
the cords are right 100%

well I don't think that one above is correct but it is damn close....there is a tabbed out version in this month's acoustic guitar magazine alongside an article about sustained notes chords and it is dead on...try to get ur hands on that one if u can

make that the january 2006 issue

The picking part is just like that. I am about 95% sure it is exactly right. If you still want to pick the part after that it is the same pattern just with different chords.
