two step question

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

if that's the case, then i'd like to unobtrusively hijack your thread if you don't mind... 8)

does anyone know the lyrics to the absolutely haunting, beautiful intros to Two Step that dave sings on LS and L@FF? i can pick out most of the words, but i can't pick out portions of it, and without the entire thing i just bugger up the guitar rythm.

and that makes me sad :( because it's so beautiful, and i want to do it justice (as well as i can sing it, anyway)

yeah i absolutely LOVE that intro on L@FF....just awesome...you could probably just make something of your own up....It seems like he sings about life and being his self and stuff. :?

LS:

"So I lead my heart, no, friends of mine, brothers and sisters, hoping that in times of trouble I might lean on them more. But lately, I swear, nightmare dreams are welling in me and this ship is troubled, only 'cause this ship we're on is sinking."

FF:

"It's not easy, so this, trying to stay true enough. Well, words in my head, I tell you true enough, I'm true as I could be. But fall aside this, stumbling down drunken roads, I find myself more and more mistaking myself for someone else."

thanks for the site, interesting reading.

on there he calls them improvisational intros... my goodness, if Dave actually improvises  those, then, then, then, man, he's becoming my patron saint muse :!:

Nobody knows if they are improvised or not. But he probably starts with an idea and just goes with it. He might even be working it outwhile boyd is doing his intro.

I don't know if this is true, but I heard somewhere that when they make up a rough outline of the setlist before each show, Dave comes up with the intro lyrics.
