Which Gauge Strings????

Want to ask about strings, maintenance, amps, mics, or comparisons of different guitars or any music equipment? This is for all threads related to music equipment.

Which Gauge Strings????

I have been playing for about a year now. i just took my taylor 110 into the shop for a set up. The guy asked me if i was a "heavy handed player". I wasn't sure how to answer him since i am pretty new. They went ahead and put medium on. So my question is:

Is it harder to learn/play on medium gauge strings than light gauge???

according to the "road crew" page at dmband.com he uses D'addario EXP 17, which are coated, phospher bronze mediums...

Hey Carson, don't think he asked which string gauge dave uses. :lol:

As for mediums, it's hard to bend notes and do barre chords and such but it's a trade off for better tone. I would say it's a good idea to start off on mediums.
