Martin DXM or D1X

Post by ButlerGSU »

I just sold the takamine that I learned on. I was considering a Martin DXM or D1X. Does anyone play with these or have experience on these? I really like the action and sound on both, especially for the price.

Any thoughts?

well for the price you can get an all solid wood epiphone master built, or a good tak with a solid top

Only D-15 I've ever seen starts at 799, which as a graduate student I simply do not have right now. Thank you for the reply though.

I dont think either of those guitars would be worth the money. I wouldnt go with a Martin guitar if i was on a small budget. I think youd be able to find a much nicer guitar for the same price with a different brand.

Well I dont know what makes you think the low end martins are going to be great. The one is all laminate wood. Im telling you, just because its a martin doesnt mean its going to be a fantastic instrument. Im positive you can find one of equal playability and sound from a different maker for probably less money. Either way, dont get the one thats all laminate (i think it was the dxm).
