Awesome vids. Interesting that Justin is a sporting a 2004 Taylor 714ce instead of the normal Larrivee. The people in the backgrounds not even paying attention make me sick, I'd kill to see him live.

Im surprised he doesn't play the Taylor all the time. For the type of music he plays, the ES is the only pickup I know of that can pick up hits and slaps and such on the body and sides of a guitar clearly.

so what's with his poppy stuff?
i was on his site the other day and he had a cheesey vdeo and singing and shit. It wasnt all that bad, but is he gonna try and break through into the pop market? i'd think he's almost too talented to.

thats basically all he does now, he tours with that band now.

and the drummer totally stole the drumbeat to clocks

Whatever pick-up he's using in the Knock on Wood vid where he's using the double-neck Doolin does damn good job.

i think thats mainly the mics he's using there. i dont even think he's using the guitar's pickups

It sux how someone so talented at an instrument can never make as good a living as most other so called musicians all over mainstream radio. Although it can easily be said that money is not what its all about, it has to be frustrating to see tons of crappy, poppy, image obsessed, manufactured bands and performers making tons of more flow, with a blantanly obiviously less talent. He could write, and sing songs that are cathy and radio friendly, have a much better chance of making real money. This is selling out, but I, if in a similar position w money thrown at me, i would definatley develop go for the better living. This is hard to admit since i am a long time TRUE and REAL punk rocker-meaning i am all about non-conforming and staying true to music, the reason why no real punk bands are on MTV, nor really on mainstream radio. These bands never really release singles, nor make MTV videos, since they want they want the fans at the shows to be their not because they "love that song on the radio" (teenie boppers) , but because they like the band and their sound and style.
Sorry for rambling, but i think it sux that lindsay lohan, ashlee simpson, and hillary duff, will sell more records, and have more people at their shows than virtually all professional musicians. Whatever...
