12-Sting or Electric Acoustic

I have an Alvarez acoustic guitar right now, there is no way for me to record anything on it though. I really want a 12 string electric acoustic as well, would it be better for me to go for the 12 string, or just a new electric acoustic so that I can record stuff? I just want everyone's opinion. I am looking at maybe a Takamine, a lot like in Pat's videos, or maybe a Seagull or a Takamine 12 string.

Seagull 6-string dude..
trust me, at this stage i think that the 6-string will grow to be your baby.
A seagull sticks withyou forever, and they are way more versatile.
you can play anything on a 6string..
wihle 12 string.. some things wont be right.

Get a seagull 6-string, and save up and later buy a twelve string.
also think of selling your alvarez...
just what i would do.
