Busted Stuff question

Alright, I read the other 3 posts on the subject of Busted Stuff tuning and never really saw a definitive answer. I realize that you tune down to the 3 strings that are different. But I read some people said if you tune normal strings down, they won't stay in tune? So do you keep normal guitar strings on to play this?

Strings that are used to being in standard tuning will always have a little trouble staying in tune when they are tuned to the new tuning at first, which is why most musicians have different guitars for each different tuning.

I find busted stuff to be really weird in its original tuning. I think it sounds just as good in standard tuning even though its not how Dave does it. Just my opinion.
