New Standard Tuning

Did a search and couldn't find anything.

Does anybody know what this is?
How does it sound?

I'm afraid to tune my guitar to this with my current normal strings.

Found this:

C G D A E G -- Robert Fripp's Crafty Tuning / New Standard Tuning Extends the range of the guitar by two full steps in the bottom, and one-and-a-half steps at the top. The strings are tuned in 5ths -- like the violin family -- rather than in 4ths, with the exception of the 1st string, which is a minor 3rd above the 2nd string. The 2nd and 1st strings must have to be light gauge, and the 6th string must have to be quite heavy.

I've seen a different new standard. It was similar to that though. Kaki King uses it.

The tuning Kaki King uses is CGDGAD, which she got from Preston Reed. She got a lot of things from Preston Reed, actually. But I digress.

El McMeen plays almost exclusively in CGDGAD, as well.

I'm not quite sure what gauge strings you would use. I've only been able to tune my high e up as far as F#.
